 Work on Holiday in Canada 2008

Artex Club attracts and recruits international students for working in Canadian summer camps, assisting international exchange students in learning English, traveling and sharing your culture and professional skills.

 

Besides working as a camp counselor you can learn the Canadian life style where over 140 nationalities keep their customs and traditions.

You can get the job of a counselor if you prove fluent English and profound camp working experience corresponding to the Canadian standards. You can also get placement as support staff.

 

We are looking for experienced creative and motivated counselors who can work in Canada since May through September 2008. Communicative skills are a must.

The program “Work on Holiday in Canada” gives you a lot of benefits and credits.


Artex provides you with:

  • visa support for the work permit up to three months at a summer camp or national park
  • assistance in getting employment agreement with one of the Canadian summer camps or national parks
  • orientation session for the camp counselors 
  • tall-free assistance line for the period of working

How you can join the program “Work on Holiday in Canada”:

Step 1. Fill in and send back Application 1 for the preliminary assessment (the applicant should be 18 and over as of May 1, 2008)

Step 2. Get the preliminary assessment from Artex and fill in Application 2

Step 3. Sign the employment and service agreement with Artex

Step 4. Provide Artex with police clearance certificate, University and educational documents and reference letters

Step 5. Provide all required documents to the Canadian Embassy in Moscow, visit the personal interview (if scheduled) and get the entrance visa.

Keep in mind the precise documents collected will help us to find a better placement for you and arrange strong visa support for the Canadian Embassy. Be very accurate in feeling the forms below and don’t be shy in describing your personal and professional skills. Don’t forget to attach as many pictures as possible proving your camp experience.

All applications and documents for the program “Work on Holiday in Canada” should be provided to Artex office in Toronto before December 15, 2007.

The applicants pay the deposit of US 580 $ to Artex with the signed agreement. The deposit is refundable in the amount of US 480 $ in case of entrance visa refuse (The entrance visa is not guaranteed even with the employment agreement).

 

The applicants of the program “Work on Holiday in Canada” get the salary money in the amount of approximately US 1,000 – 1,500 $ depending on the position occupied and the conditions of the employment agreement (minimum 8 weeks of working).

The applicant of the program “Work on Holiday in Canada” should participate in the orientation session upon arriving in Canada. Otherwise the entrance visa would be declined.

Looking for male & female counsellors, who would enjoy being at an equestrian establishment and preferably have horse experience, cook, swim instructor (certified please), maintenance..
Terms of employment:
6 weeks of work - 1 week pre-camp(unpaid). It's a 6 day work week.

Camp starts June 30th - however, if some (with horse and/or riding experience) want to come and

A non-profit organization that operates wilderness programs for underprivileged and at-risk teenagers (13-17) referred by social agencies and schools. Staffed by volunteers. Program includes 8-15 day canoe trips in the summer.

Open to youth up to and including age 17. Not for: children with bee or nut allergies, habitual bedwetters, sex or violent offenders, or those with severe behavioural problems.

Located on a private lake in the beautiful Haliburton Highlands, Camp Towhee offers two 3-week camp sessions for children and adolescents with learning disabilities and related social, emotional and behavioural problems. Camp Towhee offers training and supervision in the areas of learning disabilities, behaviour management, group facilitation, non-violent crisis intervention, and many others. Staff participate in an intensive training program prior to the campers’ arrival, as well as between the two camp sessions, and receive supervision and feedback throughout the program. Accommodations and meals are provided free of charge, in addition to an excellent salary, and ample time off.
